FAQ

1.  What services do you offer?

Georgina Louise offers bespoke bridal wear and bridal alterations. We are proud to offer both to suit your budget and requirements.

2. What is the timescale for these?

Bespoke – We have a limited number of spaces available each year and we strongly advise for you to get in touch as soon as possible. Ideally we ask for 6-9 months in advance, however 18 months is fine too!

Alterations – We work with some amazing bridal shops in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Ideally, booking in advance 8-12 weeks before your wedding day. However, as long as there’s space in the diary- I’ve done a 2 week turnaround in the past, but this is only depending on availability and does incur a 20% rush cut fee.

3. How much are your dresses?

Bespoke dresses start from £1800. We design and make all dresses. All your fittings and material will be included in your invoice when ordering.

4. How much should I budget for bridal alterations?

We would advise to budget between £100-£250 for bridal alterations. This sometimes can be less if only slight alterations are needed.

We price alteration jobs individually and lace/beaded gowns will take considerably more time. Please bear this in mind when purchasing your dress.

5. Do you have a shop?

Currently we do not have a shop, but a home studio easily accessible from Derby and Nottingham. We are situated within easy reach of a bus route into Derby city centre as well as being very close to nice little cafes and gift shops!

6. How long do the appointments last for?

Bespoke– Your initial consultation will last between 60-90 minutes. Fittings thereafter will last up to an hour.

Alterations– Depending on the alterations needed, we advise to leave between 30-60 minutes for your fittings.

7. What should I bring to fittings?

We will always send a reminder text the week before your first fitting with details of what to bring. We always ask to wear the underwear you intend for your wedding day and to bring your wedding shoes. If you have not purchased your wedding shoes, we advise to bring the exact heel height.

8. How many people can I bring to the appointment?

We politely ask for you to bring no more than 2 guests with you- we would love to accommodate more but unfortunately because of limited space we are unable to.

You are more than welcome to take photographs to show your friends and family once your gown has been purchased, and of course with a bespoke dress you will have your very own design sketch and fabric swatches!
